Wedding Cakes:
Q: How far in advance should I book?
A: We do limit how many cakes we can take in a weekend. Attention to detail is important to us. During busy wedding season we tend to be booked up several months in advance. Occasionally we can fit something in last minute - so it never hurts to ask ;)
Q: Do you offer tastings?
A: Yes! For couples who have booked their wedding cake with us over $350 we do host a tasting once a month where they are able to pick up their complimentary tasting box.
Q: Do you have a minimum order for wedding cakes?
A: Our minimum order for all custom cakes is $175. Wedding cakes start at $5 per serving. Cupcakes start at $2.75 each.
Q: Can we stop by any time?
A: We love to get to meet our couples and we look forward to seeing you. You are welcome to stop by our bakery in New Hamburg anytime. But the staff there are not able to quote or discuss wedding cakes on the spot. All quotes start by email and it is determined from there if a consultation will be needed. Q: Do you deliver?
A: Yes, we deliver all over and are happy to provide you with a quote for delivery when we start to discuss your wedding cake.
Q: What about other sweets? Can you design my sweet table?
A: Yes! We love baking and working with all things sweet! A stop by our bakery will tell you we’re always baking up something new. We love creating meringues, macarons, cookies, chocolates and more.
Q: Will you answer my email at 1am?
A: A bit of a cheeky question we know… But there is a reason for it ;) We know you’re eager to talk about your cake at all hours of the day. Believe me, we dream, sleep, eat, and live cake too. But we do also have a fun little family - well not so little - of four kiddos who we love to spend time with outside of work. As with any small business owner we are fortunately and unfortunately constantly connected to our business. If you email at 1am who knows, we may be sitting up working away and reply to you right away. But other times we may be sleeping. We will reply as soon as we sit to our emails. Emails with lots of details and questions may take some thinking and longer to get back to. And whenever possible outside of “normal business hours” we are working to balance work and family life. We’re glad you’re excited about your cake. We are too!
Special Occasion Cakes:
Q: How do we book a special occasion cake?
A: All special occasion cakes are quoted by email. Please send us a quick email to chrissie@toonicetoslice.ca with date, number of servings, and any design ideas you may have in mind.
Q: Do you have a minimum order?
A: We do have a minimum order of $175 for all custom cakes. Generally this starts at a two tier cake. Price will depend on how elaborate your design and the number of servings. At our walk in bakery in New Hamburg we do have ready to go cakes most days in the cooler. These start at $30. Please call ahead to the bakery to check what is available to avoid disappointment if we are sold out - 519-662-9292.
Q: Where do we pick up and do you deliver?
A: Delivery of custom cakes is available for most orders, but must be pre-arranged at time of ordering. Price will vary depending on on exact location, so please email us with any questions. Cakes can be also picked up at our New Hamburg bakery (Sweets, 74 Huron St) on Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays.
